Ever since I graduated high school, I have spent my summers and breaks working for Chatham Partners and Park Property Group. A big part of my job this year was managing our website. Although I was not coding the website, I was in charge of putting up new listings for our properties and taking good pictures for the website with a professional camera. Other than learning how to take pictures to make rooms look better, I learned how to write descriptions well for homes and how to highlight their positive qualities. On top of this, I spent much of my time at work managing and working with our employees who were doing day to day and bigger projects for our properties.
I began my first year at Miami University in August of 2016. During this time, I completed basic courses until I figured out that I would like to study Interactive Media Studies with a Digital Business focus. With this major, I plan on using the skills and knowledge that I learn here to get a job somewhere in the Marketing field. Although I am not sure what I want to be when I leave college, I know I would like for it to be in Marketing. I enjoy marketing because I like advertising and discovering ways to better address a target audience. Another big part of my major is learning how to approach projects, ideas, and solutions in a more innovative way. Many of the classes focus on innovation and creativity to get us thinking differently and become more versatile individuals. Many of the projects I am doing currently are more creative than many other classes that I have taken, such as this website and the theme of it. For my HTML and CSS course, this website is my final project, and the whole theme of the pages was berthed in my Design Principles Applied course. As mentioned on the Home page, this project was a personal branding project about myself. In the future, my classes will continue to go more in depth in the topics I have previously stated, with more of a focus on marketing and business.
